for pc gaming, are home theater speakers better than speakers meant for gaming?

Rolanda Merritt: Since you have not told us the make and model of your speakers or your TV, it makes it really hard to solve your problem.In general I see 2 big conceptual problems:- Computer gear (including speakers) have different connections than home theater gear- "...yes they both work" : You are trying to connect stereo speakers to a HDTV that outputs 5.1. Chadwick Schmelz: Could be you have to turn "on" the output through a menu setting on the TV. Or, if the output is an Optical jack (as on almost all HDTVs) you must convert the signal from digital to analog to be able to drive the speakers.

Ricky Frazer: Yes because the home speaker system are better quality in most cases. Game speaker systems are usually cheap thats and arent good enough to be called home theater systems.
