Advice on employment agencies?

Raul Tllo: Treat an agency just like you would a company you apply for directly.Make sure they focus on your skill set, and have clients in Industries that you want to work in.You can expect to be screened heavily around your skills, background, employment gaps, references, and your flexibility to interview for a variety of companies - maybe even some you are on the fence about. Or, n the case of temp or temp-to-hire opportunities, jobs you would consider, but on the surface not take permanently while you look.If you are being asked to sign over a percentage of your wages for their services, consider walking away and finding an agency that charges their client company the fee to find a fit. Chris de Burgh wrote a song in the 80's: DON'T PAY THE FERRYMAN... Look it up. It applies here.If they are going to charge you to search on your behalf, you had better be treated like gold and find you the job of your dreams. And you shouldn't owe them anything until you have accep! ted a position and have been officially hired....Show more

Booker Moros: additionally details you have to be calling them every morning if your looking for shift.

Toshia Metzker: I have experience with 2 local employment agencies. They just interview you and ask you some basic questions about the type of jobs you are looking for. Make sure that you are honest. They also might give you a simple French test and Excel or typing test. They are okay for finding you jobs. Once you find them they will take a cut of your pay or salary. It's good to use them to get experience if you would like a career or a stable government job. Once another job opens up in your branch and you have the experience, you can drop the agency and get paid your full income. Good luck! , be yourself :)...Show more

Clemmie Burkleo: You call them. They will make an apointment for you to go visit their office. If you are going for a field such as secretarial, they may give you some tests. The! y will then send you home. You will start getting calls in a co! uple of days with job offers..
