Manie Labat: Probably not! But first you need to look at your invoice and see if they charged you a diagnostic fee for the Bucking issue, If they did, they are obligated to repair the bucking issue OR refund you the diagnostic fee! The other poster is partly correct: The shop did not have the European software for their scan tool to be able to communicate with your PCM on the manufacturer level (If they even have a scan tool) so they should never even have taken the vehicle in (If they didn't have the tools to correctly diagnose the problem) You didn't provide the YEAR and MODEL of your Audi, But chances are, This is a VERY common symptom (Bucking/Misfiring) with nearly all VAG (Volkswagen Audi Group) vehicle and this is caused by failing "Coil Packs" (Not the Radiator or a Trans flush) NOTE: The dealership is NOT a desirable place to take a vehicle for diagnosis now a days, Because they won't pay technicians decent wages so, the good technicians with the necessary (Hands! On) experience are not going to work there, they hire young "Boys" fresh out of trade school so they can pay them nothing, and the vehicle's that they work on are "Guinea Pigs" ADDED: "Benjamin" Has a good point!...Show more
Rosalba Lingner: Doubtful. More than likely the repair shop will place a mechanic's lien on your vehicle, if they haven't already. Forget about it.
Leann Villalta: The car isn't my car, it's my mom's car. And I appreciate all of the answers. I only owe several hundred on the car so I guess I should just pay the car off and sign the title over.
Buster Exline: Tell them you don't want it. If they have any interest in keeping it go sign the title over to them. If they don't want it and have to pay to tow it and charge storage fees, technically yes they could sue for that. Don't just leave it.
Mildred Pombo: If you asked them to repair it you do need to pay them. If not and it's just sitting in their parking lot they probably jus! t want you to take it away so it's not taking up space there.P! otentially if you just abandon it and refuse to go get it they could have it towed away and send you a bill, or they could call the police and have then tell you top remove it from their property and then towed away at your expense if you refuse....Show more
Norine Lomonte: They can tell you that they will be charging you a storage fee because your car is on their property.
Fred Caminita: You can be sued by the finance company if you owe any money on the car,and as for the shop no you cannot be sued, the only thing the shop can do is to file a mechanic's lien on the car for storage and once they do that they will notify you that you have 30 day's to settle up with them on the storage fee's and labor if any.The only one that you need to worry bout is the finance company. I was in the Garage business for over 18 years here in Texas and I know how this works. So if you dont wont the car then after 30 day's of the letter that you should receive the garge will be the h! appy owner of your junk, which they will sell to the junkyard and come out ahead on this.,,,,,,...Show more
Mozell Sponsler: depending on where you live so states have an amount of time you have till the vehicle is theres i know in Georgia after 30 days the shop can sell your vehicle if its not picked up.
Joellen Zorrilla: The shop does have a right to charge you storage for the time the car was there. That said it would be of very little value to them to do that. You could at least give them the title so they can junk it and recover a little money but my guess is that you stop paying for it also and that is where your problems will come from. The body shop will just let it go and get rid of it anyway they can but the bank NEVER forgets. They will come after you. Just have mom keep buying you your cars when you need another....Show more
Michal Semple: No, they will most likely as stated put the mechanics lein on yuor car, and take ownership of it. Then they! can scrap it or sell it for cash if they want. If they were real a hol! es and had yuor address they could tow it back to you and leave it there to!
Francis Stickle: you can get asked to pay for storage. better to try and ask if they want the car for nothing as you have decided it isn't worth repairing and you have been trying to save for it but will never save that amount .
