Carli Watterson: updates for linux software are few and far between,not because they can't be bothered but because the program is precise and has all the bugs ironed out before its added to the respective repository,i only get updates for my kernel and packages that depend on it,if you really want to get an update for a specific piece of software then check in your software manager,if you have (and just as an example) package-1.1.1 installed and you check and see package-1.1.2 then that is the update,just mark package-1.1.1 for uninstallation and package-1.1.2 for installationremember though that to view all new and updated packages in your repository then you have to relo! ad the information so you can update you package availability list(oh - i agree with carling, ubuntu is the lazy mans linux, there are better ones,i use mandriva linux)...Show more
