Question about getting a motorcycle permit?

Jorge Gerrero: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=New+York+motorcycle+permit+qu...

Mitsuko Manne: The test sampler is on the New York state web page under Motor Vehicles or Drivers license.

Jarrod Darnall: Motorcycle permit questions are all related to the content in your state's 'Motoycycle License Manual'. Type in your state, along with the words 'motorcycle manual' into 'Google' for a copy of it.

May Stands: NY Motorcycle Manual: http://www.nydmv.state.ny.us/mcmanual/mcmanual.htmThe book to study for the written test.

Alexis Reyer: I took one yesterday. I live in NH so here are some of the things they asked. Multiple choice, 25 questions, and you have to get at least 20 right.-Know the motorcycle. (Where is the clutch, throttle, rear brake, etc.)-Know the positioning of passengers and your reaction time with them on the back.-Know the space of the lane you need to be in so that you are most visible by other vehicles.-How do you cross RR tracks parallel to ! you. (I missed this one.)-Know how to use your rear and front brakes and what to do if you lock up the back brake.-Know when to shift when turning, looking through the turn and leaning.-Know about visibility for night-time driving.-Know about carrying gear.-Know what to wear, i.e., glasses vs. full face shield. (Your state's helmet laws)-Then there are the typical "gimmie" questions like "How will alcohol or drugs effect your driving?"I hope this helps. Although I did research online and did the "free motorcycle permit" tests, I found that NONE of those questions were on the test. As a matter of fact, 75% of the questions were experience related which doesn't really make sense to me if you have no experience. Good luck and happy riding!...Show more
