United States Ban Fossil Fuel Automobiles?

Andra Oger: no,no i dont...not a clue, sorry your on your own with that one,.cant help you at all...good luck old chap!

Dexter Dingus: No.I'm all for finding alternative resources, but until the technology is present, banning fossil fuel use in vehicles is silly.

Maria Bengston: (this ban would bet set to a 3-year deadline, allowing time for transition to cleaner energy sources)

Gertrude Darke: And yes, I would support this ban.

Kenneth Blacker: Yes, I would completely support it this country needs to get of fossil fuels, and you know that people won't change unless its mandatory.

Andrew Sinatra: please give reasoning also

Sol Allphin: Obviously we do not have the power producing capabilities at the current time and since the wacko liberals won't allow new power plants to be built, I don't see it happening anytime in the near future.

Carter Dewater: Write the law and send it to your congressman. I expect it will get viciously stom! ped on by representatives who get "campaign contributions" from big oil. - - or you could start an electric taxicab company.

Indira Wassell: I am trying to help someone find a position as a garbage man or something in that field Can someone help me on where to apply at? Thank you so much!

Wilbur Marksberry: Slim to none. At least not until the batteries can be recharged in 5 minutes of less and have a range of 500 miles and cost about $200 to replace when needed

Wally Gower: no one would support such a draconian plan. it would make the air cleaner in north america. unfortunately, most of us would be dead from the resulting lack of transportation of food. i think a little more research would help you.

Mohamed Szollosi: to the extent that they remain the most efficient way to store and utalize sustainably produced energy.

Lolita Deschamp: If we banned all fossil fuels on the on the spot, what's your estimate of the variety of folk interior the ! U.S. that would freeze to lack of existence this wintry climat! e? imagine for a second! we haven't any thanks to grant adequate ethanol to warmth our houses, a lot less do something else (like means our autos). Given many years of creating ethanol factories and replacing a lot and many land (i'm no longer positive what land we would take or how we would water it) to turning out to be corn or besides the indisputable fact that as raw fabric for the factories, we will be ready to make adequate ethanol eventually to means a significantly decreased generic of residing. and ultimately, in the experience that your problem is greenhouse gasses, ethanol burning makes about as a lot CO2 as fossil gasoline burning. there is not any longer something incorrect with taking a stand on any of those means themes yet attempt to take an suggested stand....Show more

David Kuper: Let's assume a federal tax credit for 5 years on alternative energy (not including E85) vehicles is included with the legislation to ban fossil fuel autos.A federal tax cre! dit could help solve transition cost issues. there have been credits such as this before, though they have been or are set to be, phased out. I'm unsure if any currently exist.

Marcellus Exler: The one not already mentioned is EEstor.1 They have the patent and lockheed- martin, Zenn motor company, and Light Electric Vehicles have exclusive rights to some end product uses.2 And there is some rumor that they were talking to GM. But they have been very secretive. This site labeled below lists many of the current car battery companies. 3 The competition is EnerG2 is but don't seem to be so well along4 and Infinite Power Solutions which seems to be further into production with a thin cell battery.5And here is the blog for more details. 6...Show more

Raye Tredennick: The Federal Government (we each owe about $46,000) is broke. They can not afford to spend what they are spending now, let alone purchase everyone a new automobile. There is no alternate energy so! urce to haul our food and supplies. People would be starving and not a! ble to get to work. This is a bunch of liberal crap for which no one has considered any of the consequences other than putting the oil companies out of business.

Simona Bulwinkle: If they gave me a new car or modified mine to run on something other than fossil fuels, then sure.

Rocio Karvis: They could put up taxes on fuel to help stop recreational use and if you needed a fuel for heating. agriculture and transport like trains semis, trucks, plant and stuff they could put less tax on it and dye it a different colour so if they try and put the wrong fuel in they could be prosecuted for evading tax

Clement Viscarro: No. It sounds so simple in conversation. "Just change". Where will the Federal money come from? what would you run the vehicles on? Electricity from coal fired plants? Natural gas? What will you heat your house with when all the gas is being used for transportation? Biofuels? What will you eat? It's a matter of scope and scale, as well as a st! udy of the finite. There is only so much energy to go around, in forms that are economic to convert. Vehicles today are hundreds of times cleaner than in 1968, the baseline year for measurement. 2010 Diesel Emission EPA Tier IV compliant engines emit exhaust cleaner than the ingest. Why completely stall the economy over something that is becoming a smaller problem every day?...Show more

Luis Farlow: Have you heard of Ovonic... Cobasys... Energy Conversion Devices... Exide... SAFT... For that matter, have you heard of any other automotive suppliers? Budd... TRW... Eaton... Bendix... Timken... Delphi... Visteon... See... these are big names in automotive, but they aren't marketed to you, so you don't know them. You realize, brands like "Duracell" and "Energizer" are just marketing, They've manipulated you using advertising to associate those names with good batteries. You'll pay 30% more for an Energizer brand battery than for the exact same battery without the name! . You might buy a battery designed by Cobasys, built by Hitachi with a! n Energizer name stuck on it. It's all smoke and mirrors. But it does mean whoever owns that brand thinks that product is good enough to stick their name on it. Usually...P.S. Batteries do not pollute. Car batteries are already 99% recycled, and hybrid batteries will be 100% recycled because they're too big and heavy to throw away. The nickel plant in Sudbury was cleaned up 30 years ago....Show more

Carlee Tangaro: What is the company that will be making batteries for battery operated vehicles in the future? Will it be one like Energizer or Duracell? Or is there a company I've never heard of the specializes in battery operated cars?

Cliff Tyre: Check out the Waste Management web site. This was in the greater Boston area:https://wm.greatjob.net/jobs/JobDescRequestAction....

Bob Nakamoto: Get a life. Not everyone can survive on the alternative fuel vehicles. Most people use there vehicles for more than just driving from place to place. Hauling stuff ! doesn't quite fit the abilities of these little death traps.Additionally, with the way the economy is going, no-one will be able to afford a new vehicle. Especially one as expensive as the ones that you are talking about....Show more

Hong Hunkin: No, I recommend you start a grass roots organization and get all your friends to begin the conversion now.

Irma Poiter: Well, it would solve any over population problems, rapidly, from starvation, since fossil fuel vehicles are the ONLY way currently to transport cargo such as FOOD to the cities.Without them, most cities have less than 3 days worth of food. There are NO substitutes available for the "big" trucks at this time, OR in the near future....Show more

Demetrius Coaster: What is the company that will be making batteries for battery operated vehicles in the future? Will it be one like Energizer or Duracell? Or is there a company I've never heard of the specializes in battery operated cars? Please don't make ! this a discussion for your stance on battery operated vehicles. I'm ju! st looking for the name of an up and coming company....Show more
