Why are some Evangelical Christians against Enviormental Conservation?

Bryant Chaudhry: I support some of his policies, I would never vote for him

Caryl Mclaen: I think people have multiple Yahoo! accounts and just post and post and post. And maybe even some of them are paid posters. With all of the Bushy's on here, and only 28% supporting Bushy, something shady's going on...Doc2, blind allegiance is dangerous...to support the President just because he's president is INSANE and irresponsible. The MOST AMERICAN thing you can do is hold our elected officials ACCOUNTABLE. ASK Questions and DEMAND Answers!!!...Show more

Joeann Hoyt: Please keep it as simple as possible.

Nicolas Cooley: It does seem like there is a whole crap load of them here, doesn't it? (No pun intended) Like many people have said on here before, someone has to be getting paid. I just cannot fathom nor accept the possibility that we have that many brain dead people in the United States. Maybe the Bushites have been doing too much cocaine like their rever! ed leader....Show more

Samatha Nicar: It's the motives behind it and the precedent "conservation" sets: Telling you what kind of car you have to drive, how many kids you can have, when you can turn on your lights, how much extra in taxes you have to pay for your "carbon footprint". These are the things that are being opposed because these are really the aims of "environmentalists".

Avis Brantner: They think they will be"raptured" before it gets intolerable. They believe those that aren't raptured get what they deserve.

Rufus Plough: It's really only one miserable guy with about 4000 ID's.

Tereasa Sorensen: Depending upon which specific taxes are raised, they will pass the cost on to whatever it is that they are getting their wealth from, like products or services, or move their money, and maybe themselves, out of the country. Realize that America was once itself a third world country. It was only through their embracing of Capitalism and Personal ! Liberty that they rose above that. There is no shortage of cu! rrent third world countries now who aspire to the same thing and understand how to get it.All taxes are ultimately paid for by the consumer....Show more

Saran Stealy: Biblically, Christians should *support* environmental conservation. We are called to be "stewards of the earth," which means we are supposed to take care of it. I think too many Christians get caught in the "Liberal Bad, Conservative Good" mentality, and lump every idea into one camp or the other. In reality, environmentalism is not just a liberal idea...it's good for everyone.

Sammy Kar: Well I know some of the Bush clowns have admitted to creating multiple accounts. To answer your question: Sadly, I think these people are real. RLP, Ruth, WingShooter, Brian, and sheep are loyal Reps/Cons. They will defend anything no matter what. They all have the same exact opinion on stem cells, abortion, global warming, Hillary, Iraq, Iran, immigration, Bush supporting Sunni's, Bush's ties to Haliburton, any! thing the Republican party supports, etc. These are the wackos that make up the 28%. Between all of these people, they share the same opinion - Whatever Bush/Limbaugh tell them to think....Show more

Jade Ohno: Don't you people think that the Nobel Prize Committee is diluting the value of the prize by giving it like some gift?I mean what has Obama done to achieve world peace so far.Nobel prize has lost it value from now onwards because they can nominate anyone for the prizes.

David Boehler: some interpret Genesis a million:26 and a million:28-31 as a command to look after God's creation. i'm a Christian yet no longer an evangelical, so i won't be in a position to assert for valuable what they suspect on the topic of this scripture.

Ira Porietis: That's odd... I can't think why that would be. You are right, we are the keepers of the planet and we need to look after it. Where are you getting this info from? Perhaps this is another example of hypocrisy, whic! h is unfortunately quite common.

Coleman Petropoulos: How can you! be a Evangelical Christian and be against Enviormental conservation?

Georgia Dees: Because they are PEOPLE. People of all faiths and classes vary in the things they support. Being a Christian is one factor. Christians are taught to be good stewards of the earths resources. Just because of all them don't buy into all the wacko environmental causes that come a long doesn't make them less Christian or American. They just have a different perspective....Show more

Cherry Stampka: Really!!! I honestly think that many of these people don't even belief half of the bull they are spewing. Are they getting paid for this? If so, where do I sign up? I could make better arguments and ask less asinine questions!

Nestor Klan: VERY good question. First--this is not true of all evangelical Christians--in fact, there is areal rift within that group developing on this issue. However, y9o9u have to look at this segment of American society as a social group to understand w! hat is going on. (NOTE--what follows is NOT directed at the "rank-and-file membership; most are decent people who have been misled and manipulated. I'm speaking of the leadership and hard-core followers). The bulk of the "religious right (called evangelicals, fundamentalists, whatever) are NOT Christian groups/churches. Starting some time back--notably with Falwell's "Moral Majority" they abandoned the teachings of Christianity in favor of a politiclal ideology and made that into their religious doctrine. Part o fthat is to reject any stance they view as "liberal" as being (in their minds) atheistic and unChristian.. That includes environmentalism. You'll note--if you look at the religious right agenda as a political agenda--that it is little more than a script written by a combinationn of corporate interests and right-wing hate groups (e.g. the KKK)--dressed up in religious relitious rhetoric. In short--the "religious " rhetoric of the religious right is really a politi! cal agenda dictatted by and for the special interests within the busine! ss community, combined with a high degree of intolerance for any difference of opinion. And the most powerful of these interests are, of course, the various corporations tha tdominate the fossil fuel industry. These people are NOT Christians--they are fakes and they neither speak or act as Christ taught. But, again--remember I'm talking about the "hard-core"--the majority of them are decent people who have been duped....Show more

Tom Romer: I consider myself to be an evangelical christian and I am for environmental conservation. I recycle my garbage and grow a garden with no pesticides or herbicides. If I had the money, I would build my own windmill and put solar panels up. I , also, am against abortion except to save the mother's life. That would come under the category of love thy neighbor or thou shalt not kill. Of course, people who do not know God may not understand that. There is a time to kill. But it's not when you want to cover your sin by having an abo! rtion. Even in hell fire, people will not understand it. So be it....Show more

Hugo Pittari: uh, same reason SOME aren't against it, and same reason some Satanists are against it and SOME aren't. cause its easy to load a question with a word like "some"

Sheree Hipwell: I think only the crazies have nothing better to do all day! I just tried to ask a question about education, yet no one wants to answer it. Yet, Edwards and Coulter getting in a fight will have a ton of answers. This site really shows us how screwed up America is and how people really don't understand the issues, candidates, etc. and just focus on the lib. vs con. thing and get nothing accomplished.

Debora Soliani: Did you ever think maybe the polling is not accurate. Polls can always be pushed the way someone wants by massaging questions, the group surveyed as relative to the population, etc. But if you look on this site also I don't think there are as many liberals as you see here ! also in the general population. This site has the extremes and few in ! the middle.

Ardell Luy: Some evangelicals see people as stewards of the earth, which God created and entrusted us with. But a lot of evangelicals seem to care about only 2 issues - gay marriage and abortion. It seems almost anti-christian to ignore legitimate christian values, such as helping the poor and loving ones' neighbor; and dumb an entire faith down to hating gays and protecting fetuses. But evangelicals are an enigma wrapped in a riddle. Trying to understand them is an excercise in futility....Show more

Derrick Smsith: You know, I think I've seen more repubs on this site than anything else. I asked a question on here once "which one's better, demorcrat or republican?" just to see what people would say, and a lot of people said repub....Interesting...

Mitchell Pickens: Or are they just faking it to get a rise out of people? I swear the 28% who still support Bush must all cluster on here.

Bibi Tyron: I wonder the same thing. There is no peac! e.

Claire Billegas: Because people are imperfect.Because "Evangelical Christians" have been tricked into thinking that they should be conservatives. And they've been tricked into thinking that "environmental conservation" is a liberal cause.Because people just don't think....Show more

Antonette Shappy: Realistically the "Evangelicals" have become more of a political party...lets face it they put a pro-war President in office followed by alot of needless death and destruction....

Raymundo Kyser: This reveals a contradiction inherent in conservatism. Business concerns trump caring for the environment. Real Christians would love their neighbor rather than demonize and would also care for the world that supposedly G-d gave man to take care of. I have friends who are Christian who believe that Global Warming is proof that we failed G-d.

Malcom Bourek: i feel the same way about the 24% of democratic supporters.
